About us

How the work is done, and who does it

DualCurrent Ltd is an electrical contractor working for homeowners, landlords, managing agents and businesses in London, Kent, Essex and Sussex. The aim is simple: be easy to deal with, and be clear about the work, the price and the paperwork.

The process

From the first call to the certificate

  1. Step 1:Tell us about the job

Call, email or send a quote request with your postcode and a short description. We ask the questions we need, and sometimes for photos.

  2. Step 2:Assessment

Some small jobs can be assessed from photos. Larger and commercial jobs need a site visit or survey.

  3. Step 3:Written quote

You receive a written quote showing the work included. Nothing goes ahead until you approve it.

  4. Step 4:The work

We agree dates and access with you, carry out the work and test it before it is handed over.

  5. Step 5:Paperwork

You receive the certificate or report that applies to the job, to keep with your property records.

Practical points

On the day

A few practical points that make a visit go smoothly. Tell us about anything unusual when you enquire.

  1. 1.Power off for part of the visit

Most electrical work means switching off a circuit, or the whole supply, for a time. Tell us about anything that must stay on, such as medical equipment, freezers or IT.

  2. 2.Access

We need to reach the consumer unit (fuse board) and the rooms involved. For rented or managed property, tell us who arranges access.

  3. 3.Parking and pets

Let us know about parking restrictions or permits, and keep pets away from the work area.

  4. 4.Testing before handover

New and altered circuits are tested before they are put back into use, and the results are recorded.

What you can hold us to

  1. A written quote first

You see what is included before you decide. Changes are discussed and agreed with you before they happen.

  2. Straight answers

If a job is outside what we do, or we cannot do it when you need it, we tell you so you can make other plans.

  3. Tested and documented

New and altered work is tested before it is put into use, and you receive the certificate or report that applies.
